PARKING
Self parking at no charge is available via Gate 12 on White Ave.
for all sales. Consult individual sale catalogs for Valet Parking
information.
SEATING
With the exception of the March Sale, seating in the Pavilion is
unrestricted. If you have special seating requirements, please contact
Barretts office.
PAVILION RESTAURANT
The Pavilion Restaurant and Lounge will be available for food and
beverage service on sales days.
INSPECTION OF SALE HORSES
Horses in the sale are required to be in their assigned barns at
least two days prior to sale. Showing/Inspection times are from
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (unless other arrangements are made with
individual consignors). Consult the sale catalog for more specific
information.
BONE WARRANTIES
Bone warranties MAY APPLY for sales of two-year-olds in training,
yearlings and horses of racing age. Be sure to consult the Conditions
of Sale in each catalog to determine specific applicability.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT REMOVAL OF HORSES FROM THE BARRETTS
BARN AREA MAY VOID CERTAIN WARRANTIES. IT IS THE BUYER’S RESPONSIBILITY
TO NOTIFY THE SHIPPING AGENT REGARDING POST-SALE VETERINARY EXAMS
WHICH MUST BE CONDUCTED PRIOR TO REMOVING HORSES FROM THE GROUNDS.
VETERINARY REPOSITORY
For the March and May Sales of two-year-olds in training, as well
as the October Preferred Yearling sale, consignors may voluntarily
submit standardized radiographs and video tapes of laryngoscopic
exams to be filed in the Repository, which will be located in the
tack rooms at the north end of Barretts' Barn 9. Refer to individual
catalogs for Repository business hourss. Viewing will be limited
to equine veterinarians and their clients.
THE MAINTENANCE OF THE REPOSITORY BY BARRETTS SHALL NOT
IN ANY WAY ALTER ANY OF THE PROVISIONS IN THE CONDITIONS OF SALE
EXCEPT AS OUTLINED IN CONDITION FIFTEENTH. BARRETTS WILL NOT REVIEW
THE REPOSITORY INFORMATION AND MAKES NO WARRANTY OR ASSURANCE OF
ANY KIND CONCERNING THE AUTHENTICITY OR ACCURACY OF THE REPOSITORY
INFORMATION, ALL OF WHICH SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONSIGNOR.
EQUINE INFECTIOUS ANEMIA
All horses in this sale have been tested Coggins Negative within
six months of the date of sale. Due to import requirements, Canadian
buyers should check with Barretts office staff to determine the
specific types of Coggins Negative Certificates which are on file.
EVA (EQUINE VIRAL ARTERITIS)
A list of horses which have been tested for EVA (within 60 days
of the sale) will be available in the sales office.
EXPORT REQUIREMENTS
When a horse is to be exported to a country outside of the United
States, Puerto Rico, or Canada, a Certificate of Exportation must
be obtained from The Jockey Club within 90 days of exportation.
If for any reason the requirements are not completed within 90 days
of exportation, the Certificate of Exportation may be obtained only
after the approval by the Stewards of the Jockey Club and the payment
of additional fee.
CATALOG UPDATES
Pedigree updates for horses in the sale will be available free of
charge through the sales office courtesy of The Jockey Club Equine
Line.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
To avoid making costly errors, please pay close attention to all
announcements made from the auction stand since these announcements
often include catalog corrections as well as information which may
affect sale warranties.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF PURCHASE
After making the final bid on a horse, you will be asked to complete
and sign the Acknowledgment of Purchase Form. Be sure to confirm
the correct hip number and price before you sign. Please print your
name and address clearly, since this document is used for Jockey
Club Certificate transfers, invoicing, and in publishing sale results.
CARE OF HORSES AFTER SALE
Although it is the consignor’s responsibility to provide care
and feed for animals until noon the day following purchase, please
be reminded that title passes at the fall of the hammer, at which
time the purchaser assumes all risk and responsibility for the horse.
Purchasers are advised to contact the consignor to confirm that
proper care is being provided. All horses must be moved from the
sale premises in a timely fashion. Any delays must be approved by
the stable manager and may be subject to stabling fees.
STABLE RELEASE
In order to remove a horse from the grounds, you must obtain a Stable
Release from the sales office. Please confirm that the release you
obtain represents the correct hip number. Also, be sure to give
the release to the person ultimately responsible for removing your
horse from the grounds.
JOCKEY CLUB CERTIFICATES
Jockey Club Certificates of Registration will be mailed via U.S.
Mail 15 business days from the receipt of payment in full for all
horses. BARRETTS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CERTIFICATES WHICH
ARE LOST IN THE MAIL. Buyers may request delivery via Express
Carriers at buyers own expense. Cash, wire transfers, or certified
funds will expedite the release of registration certificates.
STAKES ENGAGEMENTS
Unless announced otherwise, all eligibility payments due after date
of sale are the responsibility of the buyer, who should promptly
notify the proper Racing Associations as to the new ownership in
order to receive direct billing.
BARRETTS' SALES STAKES
Most two-year-olds in training, yearling and weanlings which pass
through the Barretts sale ring are eligible to be nominated to the
$110,000 (estimated) Barretts Juvenile or Debutante races run each
September at Fairplex Park. Invoices for the $150.00 nomination
fee will be mailed after the sale and payment will be due within
30 days from the date of sale. BARRETTS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE
FOR MISPLACED INVOICES. It is solely the owner's responsibility
to make timely payments in order to maintain eligibility.
